Job Summary
The Station Manager I is responsible for the management and oversight of station operations to include all aspects of station management such as, employees, customer service delivery, staffing, budgeting and financial accounting, safety, managing relationships with local, state, federal, partner agencies and host railroads and all station facilities in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
Essential Functions
- Manage staffing and station operations to meet performance criteria set for by the Superintendent Customer Service, Assistant Superintendent and District Manager related to labor and operating costs to revenue ration and other metrics.
- Ensure station facilities meet corporate standards and interface with Service Delivery, Marketing and Engineering to accomplish appropriate project and program work.
- Develop and manage processes related to passenger handling and entraining/detraining to ensure on-time performance of trains and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure hiring, training, performance measurement, counseling and discipline are administered to employees at assigned stations in compliance with corporate standards and labor agreements.
- Oversee and advocate for Amtrak on any joint station usage contracts with freight or private entities to ensure compliance with Amtrak Real Estate and Marketing & Business Development standards and goals.
- Principal Customer Service Representative for station renovation designs, enhancements or corporate initiatives impacting service area.
- Manage relationships with local, state and federal agencies, host railroad personnel, and interline and thruway bus services to support corporate goals and financial support and service delivery.
- Manage facility maintenance directly in cooperation with engineering, property management and facilities.
- Station / Facility audits to ensure revenue and customer service policy compliance.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the department safety plans with specific goals and objectives to reduce injuries.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience in passenger handling, service delivery, and station operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
- Plus 2 year of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must possess a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations and applicable Amtrak labor agreements pertaining to station employees and operations.
- Proficient in administering contracts related to station operations
- Demonstrate leadership in managing diverse teams with innovative management skills
- Proven track record of effectively managing station operations and budgets
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for effective collaboration
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, safety programs, and Amtrak labor agreements
- Extensive computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheets, data base, presentations and word processing software related field,
- Prior satisfactory work experience and proven leadership skills.
- Must have knowledge of safety programs.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Able to monitor and document employee performance, evaluation and training.
The target salary for the Station Mgr I is $103,400 and $108,400 for the Station Mgr II. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experie
