Barista (Santa Fe)

Description

We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages and fulfill food orders. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, provide exceptional customer service, stocking, and sanitation, follows established health and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
• Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones
• Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches, and pastries
• Answering customers’ questions about menu choices
• Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
• Taking payment from customers
• Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting, and scheduling repairs
• Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized
• Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
• Working to attract new customers and expanding the menu
• Cleans dining room, spaces, and tables, e.g. vacuums, wipes, washes, dust, etc.
• Adheres to sanitation and safety policies.
• Adheres to alcoholic beverage control policies and regulations. Maintains a valid New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit and stores it on person, in purse, or in locker when working.

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Valid New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit is required before hiring.
• Punctuality and reliability are critical.
• Ability to work proactively to ensure the best possible guest experience.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays required.
• Ability to work effectively in an environment where the pace may vary.
• Ability to stand for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and the ability to write neatly in English.
