Position Summary

Position handles the day to day operations of providing assistance to staff working with insurance matters, supervising, advising and overseeing posting, collections, and/or reimbursement functions, and counseling patients and/or families on options for financial assistance.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicates policies and procedures to staff on collection issues to promote efficient workflow of collection processes.  Directs and monitors daily activity of all IBC staff.
  • Counsels’ patients on financial and other issues regarding collection management. 
  • Advises department manager on collection issues that arise. 
  • Monitors and updates monthly collection totals in department. 
  • Participates in the selection process of new employees, training, supervising and evaluating employees; informs employees of changes in the department. 
  • Assists manager with establishing projections and goals.
  • Monitors and reviews productivity standards of staff.
  • Interacts with clinical department support staff to enhance billing processes.
  • Keeps updated on changes in collection policies.
  • Administers personnel policies.
  • Assists with coverage in staff areas during illness/vacations. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Ability to work and maintain the hours of 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM Monday through Thursday and Friday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

    Salary Range

    $56,200.00 - $87,100.00 / Annually

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
