Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Materials Program Manager (MPM), where you will be responsible for the complete health of the Bill of Materials (BOM) financially as well as ensuring diversified continuity of supply for HDD products. This person is the business voice responsible for capturing, documenting, and communicating financial exposures and supply risk and outlay as it relates to their products. You will be involved throughout all stages of the product family's lifecycle to ensure your programs achieve all financial targets and qualified material availability through end-of-life.

What you will be doing

  • Provide expansive thought leadership and collaborates with cross-functional teams around ensuring new products meet cost, quality, functionality, schedule, product launch and production objectives.
  • Works closely with senior stakeholders to align on product sourcing plan and cost objectives.
  • Lead, develop and implement strategies with Global Commodity Managers for sourced parts, minimizing risks and ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Attend program new product introduction meetings to understand the cost implication of engineering and/or process changes as related to your product fully loaded cost targets.
  • Track the program actual costs versus target to identify program deltas and corrective actions to bring back on track.
  • Lead and influence Product Cost Management improvements with Global Commodity Managers and Strategic Cost Management, to ensure product BOM costs, meet both Should Cost adherence and Product Cost expectations.
  • Host bi-monthly management cost reviews that deep dive through every aspect of your product cost.
  • Drive successful implementation of Supplier Sourcing Plan prior to transfer to sustaining team.
  • Apply data analytics tools and techniques to analyze materials data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize materials strategies.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with cross functional teams, encouraging open communication and teamwork.
  • Assess supplier performance using data analytics, implementing corrective actions to maintain quality and delivery targets.

Qualifications

  • MBA or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven 5+ years of related materials program management experience with deep understanding of best-in-class procurement business practices
  • Recent background (3-5 years) in data storage and related advanced electronics and mechanical components and products, preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of semiconductor and mechanical materials and contract manufacturing processes.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
  • Excellent communicator with a strong sense of professionalism with the ability to effectively present at all levels of the organization
  • An influencer, able to drive consensus across stakeholders.
  • Accountable and self-motivated individual with ability to work under pressure with changing priorities and limited information.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques for materials analysis and decision-making.
