Pay range:
Technical Software Engineering Manager (Search Relevance): $128,500-$184,000
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Cricut. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses dependent on position. ***Please note: This position is based in our office located in South Jordan, UT. If you are residing in Utah, you will be expected to work from our South Jordan office. However, if you are located outside of Utah, this position is open to remote work.
Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to join our Software Engineering team. In this position, you will lead a team of talented engineers to advance the search platform. You will drive and work on cutting edge search solutions to give our members the best search experience imaginable. You’ll contribute to building out highly scalable services, with emphasis on performance and optimization, using the latest tools and techniques. You’ll work to identify areas of improvements in the code base and algorithm to drive conversions. What You’ll Do:
A Technical Software Engineering Manager specializing in search that will code up to 30% of the time
Work to improve the search algorithm, utilizing machine learning models for Semantic Search and Natural Language Processing
Focus on improving ranking and personalization to boost search conversions
Finetune search clusters using technology like Elasticsearch and OpenSearch
Develop implementations of patterns to solve real world problems and provide guidance to implementation teams
Lead discussions on architectural best practices, advise on cloud best practices
Evangelize engineering principles internally and externally
Work with systems that run billions of transactions, and keep them updated and honest
Qualifications
BS/MS in computer science or equivalent experience
10+ years related experience
Strong experience in C#, .NET Framework and technology
Experience with Cloud Native architectures and technologies, designing and implementing RESTful APIs, and architecting, developing and maintaining cloud-based web services (AWS preferred)
Experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch or Solr
Applied machine learning experience in relation to search is strongly preferred
Experience in related fields such as recommendation systems and natural language processing is a bonus
