The Department
The Golf group specializes in helping corporations leverage the power and reach of golf through sponsorship and brand activation, primarily through event or league sponsorships, C-Suite and B2B hospitality programs, talent partnerships and media/content relationships. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious professional to lead and grow a team within a collaborative and team-focused environment.
The Role
This Account Director is responsible for developing and leading the strategic vision, management, negotiation, and activation of marquee events. This role requires a self-starter with the ability to lead accounts with little supervision. This role will work as an Account Director the Hospitality team responsible for leading a team executing large scale, tentpole hospitality programs across a range of sports and entertainment properties. The candidate will lead an internal account team of multiple team members and will work cross functionally with internal teams, external vendors, clients and property partners.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute a wide range of events including national, sports & entertainment-based, high-touch executive events; pitch talent partnerships ranging from musicians to athletes, broadcast talent, influencers, etc.
Develop and deliver overarching strategic vision based on brand objectives for existing and new programming
Curate and lead all aspects of unique VIP hospitality events/programming; integrate hospitality programs into overall sponsorship goals
Manage workback schedules, event run of show, event management deliverables, and staffing for events
Develop and deliver compelling written and verbal communications; create client presentations/proposals, and other briefing documents
Negotiate and manage vendor and talent partnerships on behalf of the client
Lead, manage, and inspire team members
Track activation budgets with accountability for reporting
Conduct site visits and develop site visit recap reports and recommendations
Lead on-site responsibilities including managing registration, overseeing venue and vendor setup, staffing plans/assignments and interacting with talent and high-level executives, etc.
Present post-event recap to client; identify successes and areas for improvement
Travel frequently throughout the year, including nights and weekends to attend events, meetings, perform site visits, etc.; ability to work early mornings and late nights as needed
Qualifications
10+ years of B2B and/or B2C hospitalitly/events experience
4+ years planning strategy and managing budgets
3+ years leading a team
Able to prioritize multiple projects with ease, manage deadlines, coordinate key timelines, and perform under pressure with strong attention to detail
Polished written and verbal communication skills
Proven stakeholder management and strong influence skills
Strong fiscal approach with excellent budget management and forecasting skills
Solid negotiation skills
High level of organization
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva
Preferred Skills
Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration or Marketing
5+ years working in the golf industry
Experience working at an agency, brand, or property
Location
This role will be based in our Jacksonville, FL office.
