Purpose

Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, including group and class scheduling, staffing, emergency management and coordination of special events.

Responsibilities

Coordinate scheduling of user groups and event management 30-50 events annually. Manage event set-up and tear-down and event operations.
Train and manage facility staff for facility opening and closing as well as daily routine operations.
Supervision of staff and management of training and certifications according to industry standards and laws. Responsible for emergency response planning and operations.
Assist the director in management of the Texas Swimming Center including budget, facility improvements, capital projects, and event bids.
Responsible for website and outside communications.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in coordinating or administering aquatics programs.
Must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification.
Proven ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact when interacting with colleagues, clients, and program participants.
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
