Purpose

Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, including group and class scheduling, staffing, emergency management and coordination of special events. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling of user groups and event management 30-50 events annually. Manage event set-up and tear-down and event operations.
  • Train and manage facility staff for facility opening and closing as well as daily routine operations.
  • Supervision of staff and management of training and certifications according to industry standards and laws. Responsible for emergency response planning and operations.
  • Assist the director in management of the Texas Swimming Center including budget, facility improvements, capital projects, and event bids.
  • Responsible for website and outside communications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in coordinating or administering aquatics programs.
  • Must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification.
  • Proven ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact when interacting with colleagues, clients, and program participants.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Certified Pool Operator.
  • Experience in aquatics at a college or university.

Salary Range

$70,000 + depending on qualifications
