Senior Underwriting Assistant

This role operates on a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) and must sit in any of the listed office locations.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Underwriting Assistant to join our dynamic underwriting team. As a Senior Underwriting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the underwriting process by gathering and analyzing relevant data, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. A successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

 

Responsibilities: • Collaborate with underwriters to evaluate risks and determine appropriate underwriting guidelines • Assist in the review and analysis of insurance applications, claims, and other related documents • Perform thorough research and gather relevant data to support the underwriting process • Verify accuracy and completeness of application materials, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing risk assessments and recommendations • Assist in the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and procedures • Maintain accurate and up-to-date underwriting files and databases • Provide support to underwriting team members, answering queries and providing necessary information • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting the underwriting process

 

 

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Underwriting Assistant or similar role • Proven knowledge of insurance underwriting processes, principles, and practices • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills • Proficient in using underwriting software systems and Microsoft Office Suite • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
