WE are looking for YOU if…   you have experience performing building evaluations inclusive of but not limited to Facility Condition Assessments (FCA), energy audits, accessibility assessments, mechanical equipment evaluations, and other technical services associated with capital planning of commercial, institutional, and/or municipal facilities. You will be primarily responsible for…   

 

  • Performing client facing field walks
  • Opining on the condition and remaining life to the building component and/or system
  • Synthesizing / analyzing assessment data
  • Developing planning level cost estimates
  • Preparing written reports that accurately describe findings
  • Entering site information into capital planning databases
  • Reviewing repair/improvement costs incurred by tenants/ownership along with the following documents (if available): certificate(s) of occupancy, maintenance reports and logs, elevator safety inspection reports, Building and Fire Department inspection reports, and warranty information

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in related field (Architecture and/or Engineering preferred); minimum of three years of related experience. In lieu of degree, five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record).
  • Personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000 required.
  • Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, BPI Building Analyst, HERS II Rater, HERS Building Performance Contractor, Multifamily GreenPoint Rater, and/or Certified Energy Engineering Professional preferred.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.

While performing Onsite / Field Assessor duties, the employee is required to:

  • Travel by Plane, Motor Vehicle, Train (50%-75% of workweek) to client sites across the U.S. On-Site visits can occur up to one continuous week at a time, or typically at least one or two days per week. Overnight stays away from home may be required, along with weekend travel.
  • Walk (material part of an 8-hour workday, up to 3 to 4 continuous hours at one time)
  • Stand (material part of an 8-hour workday, up to 3 to 4 continuous hours at one time)
  • Sit, Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to observe basement and grade-level crawl spaces, and/or to read equipment data plates when necessary (at least once for ea
