Job Profile Summary
The Pharmacy Medication History Technician reports to the Lead Medication History Technician. Responsibilities include collecting a thorough and accurate patient medication history via interview with patient, family or caregiver, identifying potential errors within the medication history and communicating discrepancies with appropriate medical staff. Provides support to Lead Medication History Technician and pharmacists to ensure medication history accuracy and patient safety.

Department: Pharmacy, Hours: as needed, days, evenings, and weekends

Responsibilities

Answers the door and telephone. Assists customers with inquires, questions and concerns., Completes all record keeping and reporting necessary for department goals and performance improvement program., Completes General Employee Orientation, On-Line Interactive Education (OLIE), and All other Competency assessments related to the position of Pharmacy Technician., Interviews patients, utilizing all resources to obtain complete and accurate medication history., Maintains a clean and uncluttered work environment., Monitors assigned section for outdated drugs. (Both in pharmacy and Assigned Nursing Station)., Performs any and all duties required by Pharmacy Technicians to ensure smooth operation of Pharmacy., Processes departmental paperwork as needed., Supports Lead Medication History Tech functions in all aspects as needed.
