INTRODUCTION
This position is categorized as “Open to Agency Only”; this position is only open to current UConn NP-2 employees.
UConn’s Facilities Operations Department has a job opening for a Maintenance Supervisor 1 – HVACR position within the HVACR Shop. This is a permanent, full-time, 1st shift position, with a work schedule of Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., 37.50 hours per week with an unpaid half an hour for lunch. The hourly rate of pay for current NP-2 employees is calculated based on current salary/step.
This position is categorized as Emergency Support Services/Essential Staff. Must be willing to work during emergency closures/delayed openings due to inclement weather or for significant events that affect campus operations. Applicants must also be willing to respond to emergencies on overtime (nights, weekends, holidays and weather/storm related events).
Please note that Facilities Operations NP-2 employees may also be required to perform job duties as assigned at any of the Regional Campuses.
Additionally, this position may require participation in the Weekly On-Call Rotation Schedule; when assigned to the on-call rotation, the assigned cell phone must be carried, and calls must be responded to during the on-call assignment within 15 minutes.
Selection Plan:
This position is categorized as “Open to Agency Only”. Current, qualified UConn NP-2 employees will be considered for this position. This position requires considerable knowledge of modern methods and equipment involved in the HVACR trade.
A current State of Connecticut Heating, Piping, Cooling license and a current “universal” certificate for refrigerant transition and recovery are required and must be retained throughout employment with the University.
A current motor vehicle operator license is required and must be retained throughout employment with the University.
