General Statement of Job
The Assistant Chief Information Officer for Infrastructure is to support the Associate Vice President for Technology and Chief Information Officer in overseeing the college's network resources and composite hardware ensuring the existence, operation and management of the enterprise technology environment in alignment with the organizational and educational objectives of the College. The Assistant Chief Information Officer for Infrastructure will work closely and collaboratively with the Systems and Networking, and IT Operations Manager as well as decision makers throughout the college to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support all necessary technology infrastructure solutions. Also supports the Associate Vice President for Technology and Chief Information Officer in the creation and implementation of the Institutional Effectiveness plan for the department and actively participates with other STC administrators in strategic and technology planning. Assists others in business analysis and process for the different divisions through innovation technology. Provides updates to STC administrators/stakeholders on projects for buy-in and update. Immediately supervises the Systems and Networking, Computer Services and IT project Management teams.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Formulates and deploys both short- and long-term strategic plans for acquiring efficient and cost-effective hardware and communication technologies.
- Manages the operational and strategic IT planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
- Ensures Desktop, Network, Database, and Systems areas align with business process, tactical planning and strategic vision.
- Defines and communicates project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to executive team, department heads, support staff, and end users.
- Reviews hardware and network performance systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
- Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement of the Enterprise systems.
- Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology infrastructure spending and initiatives.
- Ensures that hardware and network environments meet business requirements and security goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
- Collaborates with Service Delivery Manager, Systems and Networking Manager, IT Operations Manager, Applications Manager and IT Risk and Security Manager in overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of infrastructure’s technology
- Directs research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.
- Develops and implements all information technology policies and procedures, including those for architecture
