What You Will Do:

This position will be the onsite Quality representative for the maintenance performed at MCAS Cherry Point for the F135 program. This role could require up to 3 months’ temporary location at Jacksonville or West Palm Beach (Florida) to complete company training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document First Article Inspections

  • Manage the implementation of the Quality Clinic, Manage the control of non-conforming products, Issue and close out Quality Notifications

  • Interface with various Engineering groups and Customer Support to resolve technical/quality issues

  • Work with Quality Manager to develop processes, procedures and work instruction in support of AS9100/9110 compliant QMS

  • Support the development of productivity initiatives to improve product acceptance methodology

  • Lead in DAISE, Problem Resolution Team (PRT), and audit close out reviews to ensure issue recurrence elimination

  • Perform product inspection

  • Review and Approve First Artica inspections from suppliers

  • Manage the tool inventory and Calibrated inspection tooling scheduling

  • Could require up to 20% travel

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience as Quality Engineering, overhaul mechanic, Inspector or Quality Auditor; OR ​Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience. We will also consider Technical School Diploma or specialized Military training and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, preferably in the aerospace and defense industry.

  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100, AS9102, ISO9001.

  • Familiar with typical operations in an aerospace engine overhaul and repair environment,

  • Knowledge of Jet Engine maintenance and inspection

  • Ability to attain and maintain Secret Clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)

  • Military engine overhaul experience, ideally with F135 engine program

  • Former Quality Stamp holder

  • ASQ Certification preferred

  • Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) or Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) license

  • Specialized knowledge of aircraft maintenance requirements or MRO experience

  • AS9100 or AS9110 Lead Auditor Certificate and Lead Auditor experience.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage quality clinics or other projects effectively.

  • Experience with problem-solving tools such as root cause and corrective actions (RCCA)

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA).

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, SAP and MRP material ordering systems.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.
