Middle School Spanish Teacher

Foreign language is a key component of our academic programs, and in advancing that priority in our Middle School, we are seeking a passionate Spanish language educator who is committed to nurturing students' appreciation of foreign language, and teaching foundational elements of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and conversational skills.

A bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or related linguistic or educational field is required, with a master's degree preferred. The anticipated start date for this position is August 4th, 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree or post graduate work in Spanish or a closely related discipline required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Experience teaching Spanish is required; experience teaching at the middle school level is preferred
• Ability to teach Spanish I, Spanish II, and Spanish III required
• Ability and training to teach AP Spanish preferred
• Experience administering the National Spanish exam preferred
• Experience with Canvas or other Learning Management System preferred
• Experience in, and enthusiasm for, the Florida State Spanish Conference; ability and willingness to chaperone and supervise students attending state and national events
• Native or near-native Spanish proficiency required
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills
• Be comfortable and adept with the effective use of technology in the learning process
• Be respectful to and understanding of students, parents, and others from all socio-economic backgrounds and cultures
• Knowledge and understanding of various learning styles and differentiated instruction
• Ability to inspire, engage, empower, educate and evaluate students with vigor and creativity
• A history of commitment to professional development and life-long learning

Qualifications

• Ability to teach Spanish I, Spanish II, and Spanish III required
• Ability and training to teach AP Spanish preferred
• Experience with Standards Based Grading curriculum preferred
• Experience with Canvas or other Learning Management System preferred
• Experience in, and enthusiasm for, the Florida State Spanish Conference; ability and willingness to chaperone and supervise students attending state and national events
