Perry County Family Practice Medical Assistant (Full Time, Days)

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Provider and Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant performs patient intakes, completes and records Vital Signs, reconciles medications, allergies and medical history, performs waived testing as ordered by the provider, performs EKGs, and performs laboratory procedures in phlebotomy and related procedures under the philosophy, policies and procedures established by the hospital and the department, as well as provide clerical and secretarial duties as necessary to maintain the efficient, productive operation of the clinic.

 

Requirements:

Education: Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Licensure/Certifications: Must be current in BLS/CPR.  Medical Assistant Certification is prefered, but not required. 

Experience: Experience as a phlebotomist and/or medical assistant is preferred but not required.  

Mental/Physical Effort: Ability to understand instructions, reason, and make judgments. Ability to understand the meaning of words, ideas associated with them, and their effective use. Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately. Ability to understand forms in space and understand relationships of plane and solid objects. Ability to perceive pertinent details and objects in pictorial or graphic material. Ability to perceive pertinent details and verbal or tabular material.

Ability to coordinate eyes and hands to fingers rapidly and accurately in making precise movements with speed. Ability to move the fingers and hands easily and skillfully. Ability to move the hand and foot coordinately with each other in accordance with visual stimuli. Ability to perceive similarities and differences in colors. Responsible for lifting, pushing and pulling objects up to 50 pounds and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
