 LOCATION: The position is based at DrinkPAK's headquarters in Santa Clarita, California. 

TEAM: The Project Engineer Maintenance will report to the Director of Maintenance and Site Engineering. 

POSITION: The Project Engineer Maintenance is responsible for the performance, equipment reliability, uptime percentage, and maintenance overhaul execution, utilities availability, of the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Ownership of a major production equipment area within a batching, blending, packaging manufacturing environment 
• Develop, monitor, and maintain key performance indicators (KPI) to ensure process accuracy, minimize process loss, increase process efficiency, and product quality 
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, accuracy, and elimination of issues that impact line efficiency 
• Implement and maintain tracking against all line downtime or product availability including cross-functional reconciliation both internally and with customer base. 
• Accountable for startup and commissioning of new batching and blending processes as well as new package sizes and configurations. 
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiencies 
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality problems and identify systems issues 
• Develop ways to improve batching, blending, utilities, equipment operation, upgrades, and line efficiencies 
• Deliver projects from ideation through commissioning that drive process and line efficiencies and format flexibilities 
• Provide technical process control capabilities and expertise to cross-functional teams. 
• Manage projects from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control to closer. 
• Ensure process are documented and being executed per standard operating procedure 
• Establish standards and manage process control utilizing lean management methodology 
• Develop, execute and support safety, energy, and environmental initiatives 
• Support team performance and creates a culture of employee engagement 
• Provide leadership for optimal functioning and reliability of equipment and processes 
• Oversees work with equipment vendors, suppliers, and contractors and their performance against deliverables 
• Rapid Changeover activities including principles, target setting, and leading successful efforts reducing changeover time to achieve challenging objectives. 
• Creates a team environment to ensure equipment and process optimization  
• Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation 
• Promote Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage and adherence 
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job to ensure equipment and facility uptime. This includes required nonstandard work hours as required by a project or initiative
