JOB SUMMARY:

The South Town Mall Security Officer works to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the Security Department to guarantee the safety and security of buildings, properties, employees, and guests across Smith Entertainment Group properties. The Security Officer reports to the Security Manager.  This position is for weekday and weekend availability. The shifts will vary for this position (7:00am - 5:00pm, rotating 10-hour days with a rotating day off (2, 2, 3  scheduling), every other weekend off. $19 per hour. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enforce and comply with company policies, post orders.
  • Provide a visual deterrence by maintaining high visibility at all times.
  • Conduct detailed observations of people and property within their area of responsibility.
  • Provide detailed written reports of incidents that occur within their area of responsibility.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of the venue at all times.
  • Provide access control to authorized persons.
  • Prevent theft of property.
  • Conduct foot patrols or fulfill standing posts in their area of responsibility as directed.
  • Verbally interact with other people within their area of responsibility.
  • Contact their supervisor when a situation occurs outside of their training & knowledge.
  • Contact law enforcement or emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle for exterior patrols and/or other duties.
  • Operate with an emphasis on safety for employees, players and guests.
  • Protect the reputation of the company.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Utah driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) screening in accordance with company policy and insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to take objections and respond with a guest service approach first.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written direction.
  • Able to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays).
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other employees.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as set by Smith Entertainment Group Management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Majority of duties are performed in-house under controlled temperatures; some positions are in inclement areas or outside on SEG properties.
