Physical Therapist Assistant (Rehabilitation/Springfield) - PT/40

Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant will:

• Demonstrate essential skill competencies in the delivery of patient care in an in-patient or out-patient setting, adhering to departmental policies and procedures. 
• Use effective communications skills to facilitate exchange of ideas for quality patient care with patient/family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside community contacts. 
• Be open to feedback and receptive to change as evidenced by feedback. 
• Complete all necessary tasks and responsibilities that support the daily operation of the department. 
• Maintain competency by participating in professional growth and development and internal/external educational activities. 
• Act in accordance with the Standards of Conduct and Ethical Practice of APTA, the Vermont Practice Act, and hospital and department policies.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Outpatient/Acute Inpatient Experience (preferred)
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in Vermont in good standing. 
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Physical Therapy evaluation, reassessment and treatment techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Working knowledge of medical terminology. 
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.
