About the role

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Scheduling and Liaison Coordinator for our Outpatient Infusion Department. 

 

The purpose of the Scheduling and Liaison Coordinator is to assure patients are efficiently pre-certified and scheduled for outpatient infusion services in a timely manner. Facilitates and eliminates barriers for the patients that are referred to the outpatient infusion services. Serves as a communicator and a non-direct patient care resource once the patient arrives to the facility.

 

Responsibilities include:

  1. Preauthorization of OPI infusions and medications that will be administered
  2. Calling patients to obtain accurate insurance information
  3. Calling insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations
  4. Calling physician offices as needed to obtain documented orders and medical necessity documentation
  5. Schedule patients once pre-authorization is approved
  6. Answering phones
  7. Serve as a patient liaison during patient visit
  8. Assist the nurses as needed with non-direct patient care duties
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Junior College/Technical School required. 
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred. 
  • One year of position-related experince required. 
    • The kind of position-related experience includes: Computer Skills related to learning the use of different software.
