This position is based in Irvine, CA, Seattle, WA, or Bay Area, CA with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule.

As a Principal, UX Researcher, you'll work alongside Engineering, Product, and Design Leads to define, influence, and build support for a long-term product strategy that situates Ingram Micro’s future in the context of emerging tech and company growth. You'll be responsible for shaping the most ambiguous and impactful strategies across two core teams, Analysis and Data teams. You'll be deeply involved in product and feature definition, using a wide range of research methods. You'll identify and advocate for specific research projects upfront and ensure that the findings match the needs of the business. You'll roadshow important discoveries, ensuring all relevant teams hear recommendations. 

Your role: 

  • Support the UX Research Team in defining the research roadmaps for Xvantage platforms. 
  • Manage and execute the research roadmap and deliver research insights for Xvantage platforms, using a wide variety of methods such as in-depth interviews, contextual inquiries, surveys, and usability testing, and etc.
  • Work with designers, product managers, and engineers in a domain area to inform product direction based on research findings. 
  • Partner with data functions such as data scientists, business analytics, and market research team to pair qualitative context with quantitative insights. 
  • Present research results and recommendations to the immediate product team and across the company.
  • Act as a thought leader in the domain of research to cultivate and improve a culture of research user research in Ingram Micro. 

What you bring to the role: 

  • Bachelors degree in human behavior related field, such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information Science, Media Studies, Computer Science, or Economics or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of UX research experience, using both qualitative and quantitative methods 
  • Experience working with Agile and/or Lean UX environments 
  • The ability to evangelize and advocate the importance of UX research across the organization 
  • Comfortable working with a great degree of autonomy and ambiguity while balancing shifting priorities across various teams 
  • Strong business acumen with well-rounded presentation skills and verbal and written communication 

Nice to have: 

  • Experience working on complex, B2B SaaS products 
  • Experience working in complex team 
  • Experience with applying quantitative research methods such as surveys, A/B testing, log analysis, etc. to answer critical research questions

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $105,500.00 - $179,400.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
