Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology (Professor Jennifer Sunday)
Position Summary:
- Maintains research equipment in the photobioreactor array laboratory.
- Supports ongoing research experiments in photobioreactor array laboratory.
- Assists with the set up, and maintains experiments in the photobioreactor array for up to 4 weeks with live cultures.
- Maintains the medium preparation station.
- Communicates with Algaemetrics vendor to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Maintains function of the imaging flow cytometer.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Experience working in a lab setting with live algae culture.
- Attentive to details and strong communication skills.
- Experience using photobioreactor and imaging flow cyclometer.
Education/Experience:
- 1 year of experience using photobioreactor and imaging flow cyclometer.
- Must be WHMIS certified.
- Background in ecology
