Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The intern will be involved in the development of firmware and testing tools for hard disk drives.  This role requires a solid understanding of embedded system programming and the ability to code effectively in C++ or Python. Ideal candidates would complete a BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering between May 2026 and May 2027. 

  • Develop and test embedded software for hard disk drives using C++.
  • Design and develop testing tools using C++ or Python.
  • Be self-motivated and work as part of a SAFe agile team to accomplish the planed tasks. 
  • Document design, firmware/tool implementation, test results, and data analysis findings for communication and transparency.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Understanding of embedded systems and firmware development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Be able to work in a structured code development process to create and verify firmware designs based on both internal and external requirements.
  • Have a strong desire to learn through on the job efforts as necessary

  • Have excellent teamwork, and proactive communications, working as part of a small, fast moving, multi-site team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Fast learning to enhance new skills.
