Position Summary:
The Remote Medical Biller is responsible for accurately processing and managing medical claims, including preparing, submitting, and following up on claims to ensure timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of medical billing experience, with demonstrated expertise in hospice and house calls billing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and submit clean claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies.
- Ensure proper coding and documentation of services provided, with emphasis on hospice and house call encounters.
- Monitor and follow up on unpaid or denied claims, working efficiently to resolve billing issues and resubmit corrected claims as needed.
- Communicate with payers, clinical staff, and administrative personnel to ensure completeness and accuracy of billing information.
- Maintain current knowledge of billing regulations, payer guidelines, and compliance standards specific to hospice and in-home care.
- Generate reports and metrics related to billing, collections, and accounts receivable.
- Assist with patient billing inquiries and provide exceptional customer service when needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience required; hospice and house call billing experience is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CPC certification
- Must reside in Georgia.
- Proficiency with billing software systems and electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong knowledge of CMS guidelines, payer regulations, and coding requirements for hospice and home visit services.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Medicare and Medicaid claims processing specific to Georgia.
