The opportunity: 

  • This role works within the day to day activities for National Accounts, both New Case and Amendments.  This includes inventory management working with NAIM, SCRE, UW, Claims, Compliance and Billing Specialist. Specialist needs to work independently with multisite team members. They must exercise attention to detail and the ability to multitask. Contractual knowledge is complex and requires teamwork with multiple teams to ensure the work is completed successfully. The Specialist’s role is to assure they are able to meet demands and deadlines set forth.   

How you will contribute: 

  • Inventory Management: Specialist is responsible for QPS inputs and updates as well as the creation and maintenance of policy documents. Ability to handle complex state, legal and contractual issues is needed when working on these important documents.
  • Relationship Management: Support internal partners to ensure client requirements are met. 
  • Process Improvement: The complexity of the contract setup and administration process requires the Specialist and team to constantly be looking for system, procedural and training opportunities.
  • Training and Documentation: Utilizing resources and technology to assist team with knowledge and training needs.
  • When required participate in testing in QAR environment for any Product releases or State Regulation updates
  • Understand and follow Special Language protocols. Continue to develop knowledge base of true special language versus system work around.

What you will bring with you: 

  • In-depth knowledge of Group Insurance products, risk management policies and administrative processes.
  • Ability to think creatively to resolve complex or non-routine issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid project management, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective, professional business relationships with internal customers. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of specialized business and critical partnerships
  • Communication/negotiation and influencing skills are critical competencies.
  • Audit individual case characteristics (plan designs, situs location, etc.) against SLF Product guidelines, State regulations and the System spec.
  • Review accuracy of the QPS output, Doc Generation programing, Customization of the document, State regulations and System spec
  • Understanding of Special Language protocols and continued efforts to drive towards an improved process. Capable of building strong relationships with Product and Compliance Leaders.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize fluctuating work volumes and competing demands.
  • Ability to take on projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to actively listen to senior leadership and colleagues, paying attention to their needs, wants, likes, dislikes, trends, ideas and suggestions is critical.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective, professional business relationships with internal colleagues.
