Job Title: Principal Missile Defense System Requirements Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL - (Hybrid)

Canvas is looking for a talented Principal Missile Defense System Requirements Engineer to join our team! In this position you will fill a senior role in MDA's System Design and Specification directorate and will support the implementation and execution of a disciplined systems engineering process to produce System-level technical documents necessary to establish the basis for MDA Program Office subsystem engineering.

Duties:

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Provide support to the development, management, and planning for current and future missile defense capabilities.
• Provide senior-level support to the definition, management, and execution of requirements traceability; allocation of MDA Technical Core Standards adherence planning.
• Provide leadership of the MDA Engineering Requirements Group.
• Foster collaborative engineering technical interchanges across the MDA engineering community for requirements development.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in a STEM field. *Experience may be substituted for education with customer approval.
• Technical expertise supporting government and contracting staff in systems and digital engineering.
• Experience in MBSE tools (CAMEO), principles, and methodologies for development, requirements, design, and analysis of architectures in complex DoD projects.
• Experience in the development, management, and planning for current and future capabilities as they relates to missile defense, specifically related to the functional portion of the system.
• Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and providing recommendations on the development, addition, variances, and changes to functional requirements as well as providing quality checks on technical documentation and products.
• Senior-level experience in document development, presentations, change requests, and other engineering products.
• Experience with interacting and supporting high level government customers (Senior NH-4 director-level and above).
• Understanding of Industry/DoD engineering best practices, complemented with mature communication skills.

Security Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; Active Secret clearance desired.

Desired Experience:

• Masters in STEM Field.
• NCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification.
• Previous MDA experience.
• Knowledge of MDA systems engineering processes.
• Knowledge of ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missile defense fundamentals.
• Verbal and written skills.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with others.

Other Essential Job Functions:

• Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
