Security Assistant

Responsibilities

 

Peraton is seeking a Security Assistant in our Fort Irwin, CA location in support of the Deep Space Network (DSN) program with NASA/JPL.

 

The Deep Space Network is NASA’s international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, plus a few that orbit Earth. The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never before seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it.

 

Responsibilities:

• Maintains accurate knowledge of the location or disposition of individuals or assigned function-specific paperwork, materials or other items.
• May conduct periodic inventories and/or maintain logs, files, records and verify or track access control, security systems inputs and outputs.
• Keeps appropriate individuals informed of status and potential problems.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of 2 years working in an office environment, performing basic office duties.
• Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel & Outlook).
• Proficient in typing, good at spelling, punctuation, grammar, and have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license.
• This position requires access to federal facilities and/or regulated areas, which requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC).

• You enjoy working in exterior and interior work environments, sometimes in inclement weather.
• You are organized and detail oriented.
• You work well in a team environment as well ias ndependently.
