Description
Performs a variety of laboratory tests, many of which involve numerous steps and techniques, and require use of professional judgment. Tests are performed in Blood Bank, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Professional application of the theories and techniques of clinical laboratory science (including evaluation of quality control data) are used to produce reliable test results which aid the clinician in diagnosis and treatment. Has full access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.
Shift: M-F, 3:30 PM - 9:00 PM, weekends as needed
Requirements
- Medical Technologist: Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology and registered or registry eligible (ASCP or AMT). Requires Bachelor’s Degree in a related filed with an Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technician and registered or registry eligible (ASCP or AMT).
- Medical Laboratory Technician: Requires an Associate’s Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician and registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT.
- If registered, registry must be current and updated before the expiration date.
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Laboratory Directory, the Assistant Laboratory Directory, the Pathologist, shift supervisors, and Section Heads
