While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

What you’ll be doing

• Own the end-to-end design vision for Coinbase’s DeFi products working from early concept through final implementation.
• Lead strategic design efforts to simplify and humanize crypto-native experiences
• Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, engineers, and researchers to shape and ship product experiences that feel effortless — even when they’re technically complex.
• Create and iterate on design flows, prototypes, and UI systems that communicate trust, safety, and clarity.
• Use design critiques and feedback as fuel to keep raising the bar on craft and product thinking.

What we look for in you

• 5+ years of product design experience, with time spent leading or owning significant product surfaces.
• Exceptional ability to reduce complexity and make technical systems feel intuitive.
• Track record of launching successful products in fintech, DeFi, or similarly complex domains.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and confident leading through it.
• Skilled in Figma and prototyping tools, with an ability to explore and communicate ideas quickly.
• Collaborative mindset — you listen, you iterate, you elevate the team around you.
• Passion for crypto, and curiosity about how it can redefine access, ownership, and finance.

Nice to haves

• Have designed for crypto, DeFi, or financial services — especially around borrowing, lending, wallets, or onchain activity.
• Understand and can advocate for both power users and newcomers.
• Are familiar with Ethereum, ENS, dApps, or onchain data and transactions.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).Pay Range: $180,300—$212,200 USD
