The Job:
As a Director Lean Operational Excellence, you’ll be part of our Operational Excellence Team working as a remote employee. You’ll get to:
- Develop the strategy, curriculum and deployment of Lean methodologies across Stanley Black and Decker’s SEF Global sites.
- Lead the training and development of the Operational Excellence team, which will include the use of a skills matrix and a curriculum of training modules.
- Lead the coordination and development of manufacturing leadership training, i.e., manufacturing leadership boot camp, that will include the schedule, modules, and trainers.
- Collaborate with manufacturing leaders (i.e., plant managers, manufacturing directors, and functional managers) to identify training needs and co-develop subsequent training courses.
- Partner with the Digital Transformation and Connected Factory teams to identify ongoing training needs and support the co-development of any related training courses
- Provide on-going Lean guidance to Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence Engineers and site leaders
- Support the deployment of elements of the Stanley Black and Decker production management system across manufacturing sites including other components to governance, launch of the system, CI, closed loop processes
- Partner with and align with our Power Tools, Outdoor, and Hand Tools & Storage OpX Team to develop an optimized Lean strategy model for Stanley Black and Decker.
- Create flexible learning interventions to meet specific site and customer needs using learning principles and techniques.
- Develop and implement a performance management system that monitors the success (i.e., rating) of ongoing manufacturing training programs and takes action to adjust where necessary.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum Black Belt level certification. Master Black Belt Preferred.
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience
- Experience leading Continuous Improvement team
- Experience leading a Manufacturing Team
- Experience developing and deploying manufacturing and Lean strategies and training programs
- Deep experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
