Job Description

This role can be based in our Mountain View, Sunnyvale, or San Francisco, or NYC

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. 

LinkedIn’s R&D Finance Team is seeking a Senior Manager Strategic Finance who is a passionate, strategic, analytical and hands-on leader to provide strategic finance support to our Productivity Engineering (PE) org, helping them achieve their ambitious goals. The PE org provides enterprise wide support for software and productivity tools; powers billing platforms and other Go To Market tech; and protects our users, customers, and product as our InfoSec team. 

As a Senior Manager Strategic Finance, you will play a pivotal role in driving cross-functional initiatives that blend strategy and execution. You will create clarity and accelerate the execution of key team priorities.  Partnering closely with team leadership, you will help clarify strategy, define and track success metrics, and analyze the impact of initiatives the team’s performance and facilitate informed decision-making, while also providing core financial planning support. This role manages 1 Strategic Finance Manager. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Strategic Thinking 

  • Identifies new opportunities for growth within scope of responsibility and adjacent areas and drives strategy development with business partners.  

  • Supports team members in operationalizing ideas and drives the development of plans for execution.  

  • Leads collaborative relationships with other teams leverages input and feedback to develop ideas and see opportunities for growth. 

Stakeholder Influence 

  • Communicates implications of work (e.g., forecasts, analyses, trends) and necessary context to senior management and key stakeholders to drive action.  

  • Drives alignment by synthesizing problems and communicates point of view to support decision-making on strategic issues. 

Execution & Organization 

  • Partners with cross-functional stakeholders and provides guidance to support the growth of initiatives by providing a metrics-oriented perspective.  

  • Identifies opportunities and develops large workstreams, projects, or operational processes.  

  • Anticipates obstacles and leverages expertise to recommend and drive implementation of solutions. 

Performance Management 

  • Reviews forecasts, analyzes risks and opportunities, and anticipates effects of internal/external metrics trends and behavior in meeting targets. 

Culture & Values 

  • Coaches team members and provides actionable, concrete project-oriented feedback (after a meeting, end-of-project review) to colleagues and/or partners.  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field AND minimum 8 years of experience in finance, finance accounting, management consulting, investment banking, or related field OR equivalent experience. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5+ years of people management experience. 

  • 5+ years of experience in the technology industry.
