The Role: Principal Enterprise Integration Architect

As the Principal Enterprise Integration Architect, you are the senior technical authority responsible for the enterprise integration ecosystem. This role is critical as Switch plans and implements new integrations and workflows across enterprise systems, including Oracle, Salesforce, LDC EVO, ServiceNow, Procore, and other systems of record.

You define how systems connect, exchange data, and operate as a unified enterprise architecture. You establish integration standards, patterns, and guardrails that ensure scalability, reliability, security, and long-term sustainability.

This role owns enterprise-wide integration strategy while providing hands-on leadership for complex, high-impact initiatives. You exercise architectural decision authority and ensure integrations evolve intentionally and in alignment with business strategy.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and maintain the authoritative view of the enterprise application and integration landscape.

  • Define system boundaries, authoritative data sources, and integration ownership models.

  • Design and govern integrations across Oracle, Salesforce, LDC EVO, ServiceNow, Procore, and other enterprise platforms.

  • Define and enforce enterprise integration patterns, including API-based, event-driven, messaging, and batch architectures.

  • Lead integration and workflow design and development for complex cross-system processes.

  • Establish standards for protocols, message formats, versioning, error handling, resiliency, and failure isolation.

  • Evaluate and govern integration platforms, middleware, workflow engines, and API management tools.

  • Define non-functional requirements for performance, security, compliance, and observability.

  • Partner with application, data, infrastructure, and security teams during implementations and upgrades.

  • Establish guardrails and standards for AI-assisted integration development.

  • Lead architectural oversight for high-risk or high-impact integration initiatives.

  • Own and evolve the enterprise integration roadmap aligned to business strategy.

  • Define architectural anti-patterns and drive reduction of point-to-point integrations.

  • Establish logging, tracing, and metrics standards to ensure integration observability.

  • Measure and communicate improvements in reliability, scalability, and integration speed.

What We’re Looking For

  • You think in systems and design for long-term sustainability.

  • You exercise strong architectural judgment and manage trade-offs explicitly.

  • You document decisions clearly and create durable architectural artifacts.

  • You influence outcomes across teams without relying on reporting authority.

  • You communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.

  • You operate effectively in evolving, AI-enabled enterprise environments.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise, application, or integration architecture.

  • Demonstrated enterprise-wide impact in complex, multi-system environments.

  • Strong experience in integration and workflow design and development.

  • Deep expertise in ERP, CRM, ITSM, and other systems of record architectures.

  • Experience designing integrations using REST, SOAP, messaging, event-driven, and ETL/ELT patterns.

  • Strong grounding in data architecture, including data modeling, MDM, and governance.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or MEng).
