About Us

Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI) is a nationally recognized nonprofit and Baltimore’s only comprehensive crisis response system. We are seeking a Substance Use Counselor to provide intake, assessment, treatment planning, and counseling for clients in BCRI’s 3.7 residential treatment unit. In this role, you’ll meet clients at a pivotal point in their recovery journey — conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing both individual and group counseling. • Complete biopsychosocial (BPS) assessments and initial treatment plans upon admission.
  • Review progress with clients and update treatment goals in collaboration with the care team.
  • Document all services in Credible (electronic medical record).
  • Prepare and submit initial and concurrent authorizations to payors/insurers.
  • Complete discharge summaries and coordinate discharge planning with the client’s care team.
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders as assigned.
  • Uphold BCRI policies, expectations, and behavioral competencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that align with the scope of the role.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (required).
