Organic/Specialty Origination Rep

Summary
This position is responsible for maximizing local specialty/organic grain origination and procurement within assigned geographic areas that will ensure a timely and cost-effective supply of specialty/organic grain.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct the origination and procurement of specialty/organic grain from producers within the assigned area
- Develop strategies, procedures, and promotional programs to support local grain origination and procurement programs
- Develop strategies to execute specialty/organic grain sales to customers within assigned area
- Develop customer relations with grain producers and end users to ensure service and reliability
- Develop regional information relative to competitive offers, services, and purchasing programs to assist in establishing grain values in assigned areas
- Coordinate with domestic grain merchandising on all positions to maximize profitability
- Provide crop progress and condition reports
- Coordinate with Regional and local operation personnel to develop delivery hours and logistics plans for inbound and outbound grain movements.
- Coordinate the day-to-day grain accounting activity with Salisbury to ensure timely and accurate settlements and record-keeping
- Work with management to establish yearly goals and Profit and Loss forecast
Minimum Education
- Bachelors degree (Agriculture, Business, Management)
- MBA preferred
Experience Requirements
- 2 - 3 years of previous origination/procurement experience
- Knowledge of grain origination and procurement
- Knowledge of basis trading
- Understanding of standard software applications
- Strong communication, math, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Experience Preferred
- Knowledge of CBOT
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Able to operate a motor vehicle and travel to and from customer locations.
- Able to move freely about farms and other agricultural areas
- Exposed to external weather conditions to include rain, snow and extreme temperatures (-15 to 90 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), and noise (50db to 100db).
- Able to use standard office equipment to include telephone, computers, copiers etc
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Overnight travel require
