Job Description Summary:

Provides complex clerical and administrative support to a departmental office or program.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls, respond to voicemails promptly.
  • Serve as the first point of contact, welcoming and assisting walk-in visitors.
  • Monitor and manage the culinary program's email inbox.
  • Provide information and respond to general inquiries about the program.
  • Guide prospective students through the initial enrollment process.
  • Disseminate job opportunities and related emails to students.
  • Compose and send mass communications to students.
  • Maintain and update bulletin boards with relevant content.
  • Organize and file incoming student paperwork.
  • Update and maintain the student database with accurate information.
  • Manage and update the department's website content.
  • Assist with clerical tasks related to course scheduling and notes.
  • Record and transcribe minutes for faculty and advisory board meetings.
  • Coordinate clerical tasks, such as setting up calendar invitations for group functions.
  • Monitor and manage general office needs, including supplies and marketing materials.
  • Assemble and distribute promotional swag packages for group tours.
  • Host and conduct tours for prospective students and other visitors.
  • Coordinate advising calendars and support scheduling efforts.
  • Perform word processing, data entry, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Support the coordination and planning of small events, meetings, and functions.
