About the role
Position Summary
NYU’s academic center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, serves multiple academic purposes. Aside from a rich term-length study away program in which undergraduate students can enroll in a full academic course load and engage in carefully selected and academically supervised internships, NYU Tulsa will also support an array of programs, activities, and events that advance other areas of the University’s mission, including short-term educational programs, research and creative work, community-engaged scholarship, graduate education, and lifelong education, often in partnership with local educational institutions and other organizations. This position is primarily focused on enabling and supporting the portfolio of NYU Tulsa activities that fall outside of traditional undergraduate study away programs. Under the supervision of the Director, and in collaboration with key provostial and faculty leadership at NYU, the Research and Faculty Programs Manager (RFPM) will advance a wide range of NYU Tulsa activities and support oriented around research, scholarship, and creative work. This may include program development and implementation, research and administrative support in Tulsa, oversight of Global Research Initiatives (GRI) activities in Tulsa, participation in the planning and execution of public and private events, and other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Required Education:Master's Degree Preferred Education:Doctoral Degree PhD, Ed.D, or other advanced terminal degree. Required Experience:3+ years in a higher education, nonprofit or foundation administration, research, grant administration, or event planning role. Experience in planning and implementing academic and/or research-related programs or experience supporting faculty members or researchers. Experience working with graduate students and developing and/or managing curricular or co-curricular graduate students programs. Preferred Experience:Experience with developing and implementing academic events. Experience living, studying or working in Tulsa or the surrounding region. Experience supporting graduate students toward degree completion, including with respect to dissertation completion. Ability to deliver workshops in various academic skills including Dissertation Writing, Research Methods, etc. Experience supporting faculty on research. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Demonstrated skill in program development and execution. Solid organizational and administrative skills, with a proven ability to prioritize projects and juggle multiple demands without sacrificing attention to detail. Proactive with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Self-motivated and with a high level of initiative. Excellent intercultural and interpersonal communications skills. Collaborative team member. Flexible and patient (adaptable in a fast changing environment). Proven writing and editing skills: the ability to draft memos & letters, create and manage websites, etc. Excellent computer skills in MS Word (or Google Docs), Excel (or Google Sheets). Familiarity and ability to use software tools such as Google Forms and/or Eventbrite to collect data and Google Sites and/or other Content Management Systems to create web pages.. Good knowledge of academic and/or research policies and procedures. Nighttime and weekend availability will be required at some times.Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $80,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
