Job Summary:
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Academic Program Specialist to serve as the administrative lead between the School of Medicine and Public Health and Department to coordinate medical student clinical education and training within the Department of Psychiatry. This position will also directly support the Inpatient Psychiatry faculty responsible for coordinating schedules, communication within and outside of the Hospitalist group, and general administrative support. This position will be responsible for the coordination of complex daily clinical, academic, and administrative activities, as well as the coordination and organization of the faculty's communications, meeting planning, and academic program responsibilities.
The Academic Program Specialist must utilize fundamental knowledge of the accreditation program requirements and other regulatory agencies requirements to manage workflow components of the administrative and professional responsibilities for the program's learners while serving as the primary liaison between program or course directors, learners, clinical teaching faculty, institutional offices, and affiliated teaching sites concerning program matters. Responsibilities:
Contributes to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation for one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. - 15% Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
- 10% Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
- 15% May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.

- At least six months of previous administrative experience
- Proficiency with basic computer programs (email and word processing)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of administrative experience preferred
- Previous experience in higher education administration preferred
