Job Summary
OVHcloud is seeking a talented and experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team. This role will be instrumental in the success of our legal operations and future growth of the company. The Associate General Counsel will provide legal support to the Company’s sales organization, product team, marketing team, customer success team, operations team, and senior management, and will provide valued legal insight and guidance to support optimal business decision making. This position will spearhead and/or support a variety of legal initiatives in the areas of sales and marketing activities, product launches, commercial transactions, data privacy/data protection, and legal and regulatory compliance. The position reports to the General Counsel and is based in Reston, Virginia.
Base pay range: $225,000 - $245,000 (based on relevant experience).

The Associate General Counsel will provide legal support to the Company’s sales organization, product team, marketing team, customer success team, operations team, and senior management, and will provide valued legal insight and guidance to support optimal business decision making. This position will spearhead and/or support a variety of legal initiatives in the areas of sales and marketing activities, product launches, commercial transactions, data privacy/data protection, and legal and regulatory compliance. Base pay range: $225,000 - $245,000 (based on relevant experience).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate and advise on complex commercial agreements with domestic and international customers, partners, and vendors, including enterprise sales agreements, reseller agreements, licensing agreements, master service agreements, vendor agreements, consulting agreements and confidentiality agreements.
- Advise product development, operations, sales, and marketing teams on all associated legal requirements from product development through product launch, including consumer protections laws and data protection laws and regulations.
- Be integrally involved with the company’s privacy program and assist in implementation of all internal initiatives, as well as keep current with all privacy laws and update privacy notices and other documentation accordingly.
- Review of all marketing activities, including website review, press releases, white papers, blog posts and promotional activities.
- Analyze products, policies, and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for technology products across multiple jurisdictions.
- Stay current on relevant industry, consumer protection, digital advertising, intellectual property, data privacy and data security laws and regulations.
- Handle pre-litigation legal disputes.
- Identify, champion, and provide training on best practices for corporate policies and procedures.
- Advise multiple stakeholders on complex matters.
- Build strong internal and external relationships.
Minimum Requirements
- JD with membership in at least one state bar.
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience, large law firm experience and/or prior in-house experience.
- A commercial transactional background.
- Experience with privacy law.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex commercial agreements for software licensing, and infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and related cloud services technologies for enterprise and digital sales.
- Excellent drafting, negotiating, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on multiple assignments at once and prioritizing effectively.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams to execute on objectives.
- Ability to work within an international company and work effectively with different cultures.
- A good communicator and highly responsive.
Preferred Qualification
- Technology transactions and intellectual property experience, and cloud experience highly valued.
- Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
