Systems Administrator

JOB SUMMARY

MORSE is looking for an experienced, versatile IT Systems Administrator to join our growing team of IT professionals. The IT Systems Administrator will have a proven record of successfully managing, maintaining, and upgrading IT systems, ideally in an agile and fast paced software development and engineering environment. As a Systems Administrator at MORSE, you will be a member of a small but growing team of IT professionals responsible for managing all aspects of MORSE’s expanding virtual and physical server infrastructure. The duties of the Systems Administrator will include, but are not limited to, designing/implementing new systems as well as upgrades for existing systems, account creation and management, break/fix troubleshooting, and working closely with the development teams to support their system needs throughout the development lifecycle.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

• US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

• BS in computer science or equivalent degree, and at least 5 years of professional IT experience with at least 3 years as a Systems Administrator in a fast paced (preferably development-centric) environment.

• Experience with virtualization technologies, including both container and hypervisor virtualization. Preferably Citrix XenServer, Nutanix AHV, or VMware ESXi and Docker.

• Experience configuring, managing, and maintaining Linux and Windows servers, both physical and virtual.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) 

• Working knowledge of modern IT security and data protection techniques.

• Experience managing IT infrastructure throughout the IT Systems Life Cycle.

• Strong working knowledge of networks and network protocols.

• Experience with backup configuration and management.

• Experience managing Domains, email systems (on-premise or hosted Exchange preferred), and Microsoft 365.

• Scripting experience in Bash (or ksh, csh, sh, zsh) or PowerShell. Python scripting experience is a plus.

Preference will be given to candidates that also have one or more of the following:

• Working knowledge of PKI and certificates.

• Experience administering and maintaining project collaboration software such as the Atlassian suite and/or open source equivalents.

• Experience with version control systems such as Git and Subversion.
