Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, analysts and solution architects fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Define team objectives and key results, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Technical Expertise:

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
• Stay updated on the latest database technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on our organization.
• Provide deep technical guidance in SQL and database management, troubleshooting complex issues and optimizing performance.
• Drive continuous improvement in data management and analytics practices, leveraging emerging technologies and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge.
• Collaborate with external vendors and partners to enhance data capabilities and deliver robust solutions that meet business objectives.
• Oversee the end-to-end data pipeline process, ensuring efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). Work closely with engineering teams to optimize data flow and maintain data integrity.

Strategic Vision:

• Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute the database strategy that supports business objectives.
• Develop and implement best practices for database management, governance, and data integrity.
• Drive initiatives to modernize and enhance database architectures, including cloud migrations and data warehousing solutions.
• Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements, implementing best practices in data security and governance.
• Design and implement analytics frameworks to transform data into actionable insights. Oversee the creation of dashboards and reports that communicate key metrics to stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear business terms.
• Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on data needs and projects.
• Present updates and strategic initiatives to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in database management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep expertise in SQL and related database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Proven track record of managing high-performing teams and driving technical excellence.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Experience with cloud database solutions and data warehousing is a plus.
