Job Summary:
We're seeking a driven, results-oriented Controller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to make a significant impact. This is more than just an accounting role; it's a chance to become a key strategic team member, working directly with our CEO and COO to shape the financial future of Venture Solar. You'll be the hands-on leader of our finance team, responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. This role requires your sleeves to be rolled up and getting things done. Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing key insights to senior management and communicating directly with our tax accountant.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development and management of annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, optimizing working capital and ensuring the company's financial health.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. This includes working with the procurement team on inventory control.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and leverage technology.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- System Implementation/Optimization: Potentially assist with ongoing system improvements and integrations, particularly related to accounting software.
Qualifications:
- CPA License is highly preferred.
