The Department of Labor, Reemployment Services Division, is seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to lead the North Platte and Lexington teams as Regional Reemployment Services Manager. Examples of Work

General:

  • Report directly to the Director of Reemployment and Training [RES] with the Nebraska Department of Labor [NDOL].

  • Responsible for the supervision approximately 6-12 direct reports and operational control of the NDOL Offices in the North Platte region, including coordination with One-Stop Operator and partners.

  • Develop positive relations with other NDOL Departments, State agencies, private employers, non-profit and public sector agencies, and state and local Workforce Development Boards to create effective programs that meet the needs of employers and job seekers. Manage grants and programs as assigned including project planning and advancements, compliance with state and federal requirements and outcome-based performance measures.

Community Outreach:

  • Develop and conduct local public relation activities, across the Region, to explain the various employment and training programs available to employers, labor organizations, governmental agencies, community groups and the general public.

  • Plan, organize, coordinate and provide administrative leadership and direction regarding the delivery of RES programs under the Wagner-Peyser Act, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, [WIOA], Jobs for Veterans State Grant [JVSG], and all other laws/programs providing employment and training services.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other State agencies, local governmental agencies, employers, community services, labor organizations, local training agencies and other organizations in the public and private sector to ensure positive relationships are developed and maintained.

Financial:

  • Conduct fiscal analysis on expenditure rates and advise the Director of RES of unusual trends or problems.

  • In conjunction with the Director of RES, prepare annual budgets for office location and monitor fiscal expenditures on an on-going basis to ensure program allocations are not exceeded.

  • Create, monitor, and manage office and program specific budgets. Monitor fiscal expenditures to ensure Federal grant allocations are not exceeded and that all grant funds are leveraged within the limitations provided by the grant sources.

Staff Development:

  • Establish and oversee the development of staff performance goals, RES priorities and policies as administered by the Nebraska Department of Labor.

  • Responsible for personnel management to align with program performance goals and priorities. 

  • In conjunction with NDOL Program Coordinators, establish and evaluate program performance goals and standards to ensure continuous program improvement.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, financial management, social/behavioral sciences, human services, or related field plus 3 years’ experience in program management w
