We are looking for a Government Property Specialist who is a team player able to support company compliance to customer & government property requirements, and the property organization’s procedures and processes.  This person will work closely with the central property organization, Government customer, Prime customers, Government auditing agencies and internal stake holders. This position is part of the Customer Property Team supporting Collins Aerospace, Power & Controls Business Unit, based in Rockford, IL. This position will be onsite in San Dimas, CA and reports to the Business Unit Property Manager. 

What You Will Do 

  • Assure compliance to contract requirements, regulations, and RTX/Collins/Site policies and procedures for managing customer property 

  • Perform transactional activity and reporting for designated programs as required 

  • Interface with site leadership and functional personnel to ensure compliance with established processes and procedures 

  • Support internal and third party assessments/audits and drive corrective actions identified resulting from those activities 

  • Establish, implement, and monitor designated business plans assigned by management 

  • Generate and provide accurate and timely property status reports and metrics for management and internal and external customers 

  • Perform all property closeout activities including any disposition actions and/or loss of customer property reports for assigned programs 

  • Routinely assess procedures and provide suggestions for streamlining and improving processes 

  • Partner with Contract Management organization to ensure property management related requirements are executed for assigned contracts/programs 

  • Ability to conduct and/or schedule property management compliance and awareness training sessions at all levels 

  • Assist the Business Unit Property Manager in supporting other sites where required

  • Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements, and support EH&S efforts to improve practices 

  • Comply with applicable Global Trade Compliance (GTC) policies and procedures 

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

  • Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.  

  • Physical inventory and material handling experience.

  • Experience with SAP (or comparable ERP system) transactions.

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Understanding of customer contract structure. Working knowledge and understanding of Government and Purchase Contracts

  • Previous Government Property Management experience preferred 

  • National Property Management Association Certification preferred - CPPS, CPPA, or CPPM 

  • FAR, DFARS, and ability to read and apply regulatory requirements 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) 

  • Ability to work in a team environment and drive change 

  • Ability to review data with a highly analytical approach to identify process disconnects or potential system errors 

  • Works to influence parties within and outside of work area at an operational level regarding policies, practices and procedures 

  • Able to communicate with parties within and outside of own department, (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) 

  • Responsible for making moderate improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of work area
