Printing Services - Student Assistant

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Director, the student assistants assigned to Printing Services will receive lead work direction from the Printing Services Lead. The department provides printing services, copier fleet support, and secure shredding throughout campus. This position primarily aims to support printing and shredding operations, deliver packages, and pick up shredding bins. It also assists with binding and production needs in the printing facility. Student assistants will perform their work using a university-supplied vehicle for which they must pass a defensive driving course

Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:
- Pick up and delivery print orders to various on-campus departments.
- Operate a large truck with a lift gate to collect shred bins and boxes from campus departments. Process shredding requests into an industrial-grade shedder using electric bin dumpers.
- Assist with bindery tasks such as binding, trimming, and assembling printed materials
- Replenish paper stock for printing operations and restock toner cartridges for campus copier fleet.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of shredding activities and requests.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

• Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Required Qualifications:

• Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
• Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
• International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card

Compensation and Benefits:

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.90 per hour.

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

Position Information:

Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal

Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).

Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).
