Bio-Chemical Manufacturing Technician

Job Description

Responsible for performing a variety of technical support duties in one or more manufacturing areas, which may involve working with and assisting engineers. Duties may be related to the technical support of one or more production/fabrication processes, product testing and troubleshooting; and/or technical analyses and problem-solving. Carries out and/or assists in the development, improvement and optimization of standards, processes and procedures in the manufacturing environment, which may include cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance. May assist in qualifying sources of raw materials, chemicals and other ingredients used in the manufacturing process. Works with engineers to develop, execute and track the testing and problem resolution of new and existing components, parts, products or processes/systems. Compiles and maintains applicable documentation. May design and/or build tools.

Specific job duties include:

• Gaining deeper understanding of technical knowledge in area of responsibility.

• Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions for new/more complex assignments.

• Assignments are moderately complex and require planning and decision-making.

• Makes recommendations for process improvements or deviations.

• Chooses appropriate tasks, sequence, and methods to complete work.

• Working knowledge of UPLC, HPLC, Plate Reader, UV-Vis Spec, and other is a plus.

• Performs data analysis to ensure product is meeting specification.

• Coordinates information and activities within team as needed.

• May deliver training or presentations within group as needed.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites: Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.

Qualifications

• May require some higher education or specialized training/certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically, 1-3 years of relevant experience for entry to this level.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $26.78 - $41.84/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
