ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in developing and delivering necessary safety training for Division in accordance with established law, regulation, or Magna Corporate policies, practices and programs.
  • Collaborate with external teams (project managers, purchasing, etc.) to ensure new vendors and contractors have required documentation prior to commencing work.
  • Maintain licensure and paperwork in accordance with Magna policies and all federal, state and local laws, including but not limited to: forklift licenses, visitor paperwork, etc.
  • Administer forklift theoretical testing and assist with the coordination of practical testing.
  • Monitors activities of Division’s Joint Health & Safety Committee, and Magna Corporate Ergonomics program.
  • Acts as designate to respond to safety related issues and concerns raised by employees or management.
  • Assists with the implementation of industrial hygiene monitoring and reports results accordingly.
  • Attends training as required by Magna Corporate & government agencies.
  • Provide required periodic reporting and updating to Magna HSELinx database for Magna Corporate Health and Safety, Environmental, and Ergonomic programs, inspections and audits.
  • Performs all work in compliance with Magna and Magna Engineered Glass Systems Health, Safety and    Environmental policies and procedures as well as all federal, State and local laws; promptly report any   hazardous condition or workplace injury.
  • Conducts Environmental and Safety audits.
  • Performs other duties as directed.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful completion of OSHA 10- or 30-hour training course.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Power Point Presentations.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge in occupational safety and environmental areas with understanding of governmental/legal requirements (i.e., OSHA, MIOSHA, CFR) for respective areas is an asset.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization, represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills and obtain a high degree of initiative.
  • Position to lead and or help support the sustainability/energy champion with projects, corporate goals, and other various initiative.
  • Familiarity with I-Auditor preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency preferred.
