Job Description

Senior Post Maker

We are hiring a talented Post Production Creative Maker – someone with a seasoned expertise across all of the areas of Post – to join our team at PXP Studios. 

Our ideal candidate has experience with video editing, animation, motion design, and color correction.  Broadly speaking, you will be responsible for assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the Executive Producer and/or the Creative Director. You should have expert knowledge of modern video editing, motion, and color techniques, be able to visualize directorial concepts and work according to a strict schedule.

Ultimately, a top-notch Video Editor can perfectly translate a Director’s idea into a beautifully crafted film or video piece. Our ideal candidate can utilize advanced color grading techniques to enhance videos’ visual mood and atmosphere and adjust color balance, saturation, exposure, and other parameters to achieve desired visual aesthetics. We’ll also expect you to maintain consistency in color grading across different scenes or shots to create a cohesive look while working closely with directors, cinematographers, and other stakeholders to understand their vision and apply appropriate color grading treatments.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Meeting with the Creative Director to determine production vision.
• Import, organize, and assemble raw video footage into a cohesive sequence.
• Edit video content, including cutting, trimming, and rearranging clips to create a smooth and engaging narrative.
• Enhance video quality by adjusting brightness, contrast, saturation, and other visual parameters.
• Apply visual effects, transitions, titles, and graphics to enhance production value.
• Sync and edit audio tracks, including background music, voiceovers, and sound effects.
• Optimize videos for various platforms and formats, such as social media, websites, or broadcasts.
• Create rough and final cuts
• Maintain consistency in color grading across different scenes or shots to create a cohesive look.
• Work closely with directors, cinematographers, and other stakeholders to understand their vision and apply appropriate color grading treatments.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and editing and color grading techniques and implement them effectively.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, or a related field.

3+ years of hands-on experience with video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and/or DaVinci Resolve.

Strong understanding of color grading techniques and color theory.

Solid knowledge of video codecs, formats, and optimization for various platforms.

Creative mind and storytelling skills.

Familiarity with 3D composition and special effects.

Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio

Ability to work on a tight schedule.

Ability to translate ideas into complete projects.
