<p>Wärtsilä Corporate Relations and Sustainability team is looking for an experienced and passionate EHS Manager. This is a global position in a corporate EHS function playing a key role in developing and ensuring an exemplary health and safety culture and practices within Wärtsilä and striving towards corporate EHS goals. In your position, you will work closely with business QEHS and global support functions to develop and implement group-wide EHS activities. </p>

<p>The position is permanent. The preferred location is the Helsinki, Vaasa or Turku office, but other Wärtsilä main offices can be considered.</p>

<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>As a team member in the corporate EHS function, you are engaged in developing, coordinating and leading the following global EHS activities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Global health & safety programs</li>
<li>Global H&S safety communication and campaigns (e.g., global safety day, intranet, info-calls)</li>
<li>Safety culture training program (including Train the Trainer activities)</li>
<li>EHS online pieces of training (new training and updates)</li>
<li>Digital EHS tools (e.g., global hazard/incident reporting system and management BI reports)</li>
<li>Trend analysis of global H&S data and identification of best practices</li>
<li>Monthly and annual corporate H&S reports</li>
<li>(Sub)contractor EHS management practices</li>
<li>EHS policies and instructions</li>
<li>Global Occupational Health initiatives</li>
<li>Global environmental management practices and tools</li>
<li>EHS expertise in critical risk/opportunity areas</li>

<p>We are looking for a person who:</p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>Supports our global organisation by applying your in-depth health & safety knowledge and experience </li>
<li>Is passionate about taking care of people and the environment</li>
<li>Is well prepared to work in cross-business health & safety workgroups</li>
<li>Has the ability to inspire global EHS teams, leading by example with a ‘boots on the ground’ mentality</li>
<li>Drives personally the implementation of global health & safety initiatives and demonstrates effective safety leadership</li>
</ul>

Requirements:</p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in Health/Safety/Environmental, or related field </li>
<li>Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated safety experience within a similar industry / organization</li>
<li>A proven ability to implement innovative safety programs and sustain improved results </li>
<li>Expert knowledge of safety culture, behavioural safety and leadership programs</li>
<li>Expert knowledge of occupational health & safety management practices and tools</li>
<li>Proficiency in utilising safety management software, data analysis tools, and other relevant technology</li>
<li>Excellent communication, teamwork and training skills</li>
<li>Capable to establish professional relationships, to cooperate and communicate in a cross-functional and global environment</li>
<li>Strong results orientation</li>
<li>Demonstrable problem-solving and decision-making skills</li>
<li>Confident self-starter who can work independently</li>
<li>Fluent written and spoken English</li>
<li>Travel expectancy 10%</li>
