The Research Specialist will facilitate funded/sponsored research studies by ensuring the scent detection dogs, interns, and facilities are positioned for success. The selected candidate will spend the majority of time collecting data, educating interns, training/caring for the research dogs and supporting laboratory and Penn Vet Working Dog Center operations.
This position is tied to grant funding and is expected to conclude 7/31/2028.
Job Responsibilities
Data collection for research studies
Intern training
Dog training and husbandry
Data entry and management
Maintain research apparatus (olfactometers)
Maintain lab facility
Contribute to study planning
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required, 1 to 2 years is preferred.
