We are seeking a Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operations Practice – Project Director for our national practice, this position can be based out of our Raleigh or Greensboro, NC location.

How will you contribute to the team? 

  • Supports the TMC Practice by collaborating with business development partners to advance the TMC Operations portfolio. 
  • Assist the practice with project management of all national contracts by developing, communicating, and managing project quality assurance, administrative procedures, communication guidelines, project deliverable formats and specifications, and progress reporting requirements.
  •  Develops, implements, and monitors annual and strategic marketing plans for targeted projects; participates in the development of Strategic Plan.
  • Monitors schedules, billing and reports; accountable for project team productivity, project profitability, and results against budget and marketing plan.
  •  Identifies new business opportunities to the firm, coordinates and participates in project presentations to the clients and other external groups, and promotes firm’s capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients.
  • Participates in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and in the preparation of firms’ qualification/experience statements.
  • Reviews proposals and selects interview teams; reviews and recommends project marketing budgets subject to approval by senior management. 
  • Maintains visibility and professional courtesy by actively participating in civic and professional organizations and encourages project staff to do the same
  • Coordinates communication between internal and external associates and client, and between firm and regulatory agencies.
  •  Identifies and works toward the resolution of client relations problems.
  •  Maintains frequent contact with clients and regulatory agency personnel to determine their respective needs and requirements and serves as expert witness at project hearings and judicial proceedings if necessary.
  • Assists project staff in developing work plans; reviews and approves schedules, budgets, project milestone dates, and work products.

What will you contribute? 

  • Bachelor's degree in field(s) of practice. Graduate degree desirable. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus. This level may be achieved with 8 years’ experience in project production and technical professional activities, two of these working as a Sr. Technical Professional.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, public speaking and persuasive ability.
  • Strong project financial management and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficient.
