Major Purpose

This job is the main level of the Marketing Rep Development Program (MRDP) and is designed to provide opportunities to develop an understanding of John Deere's products and services, establish a network of people to support personal and professional growth, and to gain experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing and sales, customer support, training, dealer development, factory marketing, DTAC, and factory product support. This position typically performs short-term professional marketing rotational assignments regarding sales and related products, marketing and distribution processes and product support including project management assignments of low to medium complexity. May have dealers assigned with limited responsibility for overall channel partner performance.

Major Duties

  • Fulfills a variety of developmental assignments, including limited responsibility for channel partner performance (such as parts market share or complete goods market share).
  • Travels with selected field managers to make sales/product support calls on channel partners and customers.
  • Delivers and or assists with product promotional events.
  • Participates in training related to product, sales, and marketing processes, etc.
  • Provides product or technical support to field teams, channel partners, or customers on advanced problems.

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge

Knowledge of dealers and other channels.Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions.Willingness to travel.General business knowledge with an understanding of the various divisions of the company.Knowledge of products and services offered by the appropriate area of responsibility.Demonstrated sales and marketing skills.
